Thank you for your post, Adriana!
Hi Vic! Thanks for publishing Adriana’s post!
I hope the new version will be not just a american pie version.
Lília ;-)
Oh, dear. Lilia. Upon viewing the cast, I have no hope that this film will rival Emma Thompson’s sterling version or the brightness and originality of Clueless.
Sure Vic! I guess this will another version… totally different from S&S (1995) and Clueless…
Looks like it is a production from the Mormon movie industry, so it will be the S&S Utah, like the P&P from 2003 is P&P Utah.
Yes, I had not thought of that, but you are probably correct, Cinthia. There has been little publicity, which is puzzling.
It’s is only what I can surmise since the director, one of the scripwriters and the cinematographer credited at IMDB have been involved in other Mormon related movies.
Thanks Cintia for adding such information!
Was the 2003 movie widely distributed? I don’t recall it.
Karen, I have no idea… mas the movie was sold here in Brazil.
Hi , I happened to have the pleasure of working as an extra on this film. The director, the production staff the actors and extras did a wonderful job…. I am a jane austen book lover and feel they did a wonderful job yes its not the emma thompson version its a modern day but these books have been done a thousand times with different settings and versions. Please see it before you pass judgment on it
Just watched the trailer, it looks better than from prada to nada! So that’s a plus! I wish people would stop making these movies without even trying to capture the spirit of sense and sensibility. It’s such a waste.
I’m intrigued . . .but I always need to watch any and all Austen adaptations!
I tried to wath this film last night with my better half, and like me she was completely put off it to the point where we turned it off.
Why?
Because of the dreadful, syrupy soundtrack “music” constantly droning on and on and on telling us how we should “feel” about any particular scene to the point where it literally ruined the film.
A real shame, as it seemed like a very interesting reading of the story.
Why do film makers do this? It seems to be getting worse and worse all the time.
